The hairdressing and beauty industries are wonderfully portable yet demanding Industries. They enable it’s members to travel and work anywhere in the world and support themselves come what may!
Since completing my apprenticeship more than 25 years ago; I’ve gone on to own salons, train and assess hairdressing students as the Artistic Director for a salon chain, as a Goldwell technical expert, Pivot Point educator, and was the Director of Education and Training for a private training organisation, looking after the training needs of 500 apprentices. I’ve worked on TV shoots and done editorial work for magazines, mentored student Artistic Teams , and organized and participated in Hair Shows, Expos and Career events.
This experience puts me in a unique position to be able to understand the needs of owners and managers in developing their business and upskilling creative and fashion-focused staff working in a salon or spa.
I have Australian training and hairdressing qualifications, including a Diploma in Salon Management, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, and an Associate Diploma in Vocational Instruction from Griffith University. I lived and worked in Germany for 8 years after being recognised as a ‘Master Craftsman’ (Friseur Meister) but my passion has always been education and how to develop and deliver learning outcomes and professional development programs in a way that involves and engages learners, yet also provides value to the salon business.
To a business:
“Employees are a company’s greatest asset – they’re your competitive advantage. You want to attract and retain the best, then provide them with encouragement, stimulus, and make them feel that they are an integral part of the company’s mission by developing them professionally and equipping them with the skills needed to build a clientele and make the salon profitable”.
Having managed an RTO, I am also in a position to mentor and provide support to RTO’s, trainers, assessors, and workplace supervisors responsible for staff training. I provide RTO compliance services including resource development, assessment validation and moderation services, assessment mapping and bench-marking.
The Industry specific learning resources I have on offer are based on the Australian National Hairdressing Training Package; however, I have also written resources for other sectors such as retail, beauty, business, training and assessment, food processing, and health and safety.

My background as an educator and manager in vocational education and training, running RTOs, managing government contracts, and apprenticeship training, nationally, means we can monitor apprentice progression, coordinate trainee/apprenticeship signups and contracts, liaise with RTOs providing off-the-job training and monitor the apprentices progression, manage incentive payments and the contract in general, so salons and their staff can concentrate on their clients, while we look after the rest!
Mane Solutions has a high standard of delivery and can contextualize and personalize accredited training to suit the individual learner and facilitate this in the workplace during the day, or evenings, if more suitable to the working environment. For those in remote or regional areas, we are able to deliver accredited training in blocks. This is done under the auspice of an RTO but a minimum number of students will apply.
